If you need a month in Rajasthan rather than a weekend, a serviced apartment beats both a hotel and a villa. Viraalay runs six of them: four 2BHKs at Lakecity in Udaipur, from around ₹5,500 a night, and two in Jaipur on Tonk Road, from around ₹4,200, roughly a kilometre and a half from Jaipur airport. All six come with a kitchen, a dedicated workspace, power backup and a caretaker.
This is written for the guest nobody designs for: the consultant on a six-week deployment, the family relocating between houses, the couple in town for a parent's treatment, the remote worker who wants to spend a season somewhere with better weather.
Why an apartment, not a hotel or a villa
A hotel room is built for three nights. Over a month it becomes expensive, and more to the point it becomes tiring: no kitchen, laundry billed per item, and a desk that is really a dressing table. Anyone who has worked a full day from a hotel room knows the specific ache of it.
A villa solves the space problem and creates a cost problem. Paying for six bedrooms, a pool and a garden when two people need two bedrooms and a wifi connection is the wrong trade.
An apartment sits between them. You get separate bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen with an induction hob and a refrigerator, a washing machine, and a rate that is built for weeks rather than nights. Long stays are the point rather than an exception.
The Jaipur apartments, on Tonk Road
Both sit in Jaipur's southern business belt, which is a deliberate choice. Jaipur International Airport is about 1.5 km away. Durgapura is 1.5 km. Jawahar Circle is roughly 1.3 km, and there are eight or nine parks within a two-kilometre radius, which matters when you are here long enough to want a morning walk.
The Royal Crown is the 3BHK, from around ₹5,000 a night, with three ensuite bedrooms, a living room, a kitchen, a balcony and a dedicated workspace. The Majestic Crown is the 2BHK, from around ₹4,200, with the same setup at a smaller footprint and a balcony that catches the Jaipur sunset.
The old city sightseeing is further out and that is fine for a long stay. City Palace is about 9 km, Hawa Mahal 10, Nahargarh and Jal Mahal 13, Amer Fort 19. You will see them once. You will use the airport, the parks and the local restaurants every week.
The Udaipur apartments, near Fateh Sagar
The four Lakecity apartments, Comfy, Homely, Premium and Smart, are separate 2BHK units in the Badgaon and Manoharpura belt, each from around ₹5,500 a night for up to six guests.
The detail that matters for anyone working: both bedrooms in each unit have their own study and workstation, not one shared desk in a corner. If two people on the trip both take calls, they are not negotiating over a table. Both bedrooms are ensuite with organic toiletries, one has a hill-view balcony, and there is a caretaker, parking, power backup, a water purifier, a microwave, an induction hob, a kettle and indoor games.
Location-wise you are around 5 km from Fateh Sagar, 8.9 km from Lake Pichola, 10 km from Sajjangarh and roughly 29 km from the airport. Close enough to the lakes for a weekend, far enough from the tourist grid to buy groceries without negotiating.
Booking two or three units together is worth knowing about. Families splitting across generations often take two adjacent apartments rather than one villa: everyone gets their own kitchen and bedtime, and the total is lower.
What makes a long stay work
After running these for a while, the things that decide whether a month goes well are consistent, and none of them are the photographs.
- Two workstations, not one. The single most common complaint about long-stay accommodation anywhere.
- Power backup that is real. Ask what the backup covers. Lights and fans is a different proposition from air conditioning.
- A caretaker who is actually present. Over four weeks something will need fixing. Over three nights it probably will not.
- A working kitchen. Induction, refrigerator, microwave, kettle, water purifier, real crockery. Eating out for thirty consecutive days is neither cheap nor pleasant.
- Laundry. A washing machine on site, or a laundry service, changes a long stay more than any amenity on the list.
- A vegetarian kitchen you can rely on. Every Viraalay property is pure vegetarian, with breakfast included and further meals on request with twenty-four hours' notice. Over a month, that removes a daily decision.
Who books these
Project deployments. Consultants, auditors, engineers and installation teams posted to Jaipur or Udaipur for four to twelve weeks. Tonk Road's proximity to the airport is the reason the Jaipur apartments get repeat bookings from the same firms.
Families between homes. Relocating, renovating, or waiting on a handover. An apartment is the least disruptive version of that gap.
Medical travel. Families accompanying a patient for treatment need a kitchen, quiet and a caretaker far more than they need a lobby.
Extended family visits. NRI families visiting parents for a month who would rather not crowd the family home.
Workations. Remote workers who want a season in the hills rather than a week. Udaipur between October and March is close to ideal for this.
Practical notes
Check-in is 2:00 PM and check-out 11:00 AM. Pets are not permitted. Smoking is restricted to designated areas. Housekeeping runs regularly and is coordinated with the caretaker. Tariffs are set on standard occupancy, with additional guests charged separately and approved in advance.
For stays beyond a couple of weeks, talk to us directly rather than booking night by night. Longer bookings are quoted differently, and we would rather structure it properly at the start.
